Nicole Brown

Nicole Brown is a Lecturer in Education at the UCL Institute of Education, London. She holds a Master’s degree (Master of Teaching), but her first degree was a Magister in Anglistics & Americanistics and French from the University of Vienna, Austria. Nicole was always interested in languages and taught English and French as foreign languages in Austria and German and French as foreign languages in the UK. She enjoys using languages and working out how language works, so that she is able to speak languages that she has never had any formal training in.

Nicole‘s family approaches bilingualism through the one-parent, one-language strategy, which works incredibly well for them. Her contributions relate to her personal experience within her family but also from her work as an academic with a personal interest in multilingualism and language learning.
